Donnie C. Harless
Donnie C. Harless, 97, of Wharton, Boone County, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007,
in Boone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville, after an extended
illness.
Born Dec. 24, 1909, in Logan, Mr. Harless was a retired coalminer and a member
of the UMWA and Bald Knob United Methodist Church, Bald Knob.
Survivors include his wife, Edith G. Harless of Wharton; daughter, Ruby Smith
of Newport News, Va.; sisters, Opal Setser of Wharton, Virginia Maynard and
Delcie Chin, both of Charleston, and Clara Weintraub of Florida;
grandchildren, Rebecca Mabe of Cary, N.C., and Edward Smith of Newport News,
Va.; and great-grandchildren, David Mabe of Colorado and Monica Mabe of Cary,
N.C.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Stevens Funeral Home,
Madison, with the Rev. Tom Beckett officiating. Burial will follow in Boone
Memorial Park, Madison.
Friends may call one hour prior to service.
