George was the son of John W. Harless (1824-1864) and Elizabeth (Terry)
Harless and the husband of (1) Mary Susan Nichols Harless, (2) Jane (Jennie)
Rice Collier Harless and (3) Minnie Harless.
George's father served in C.S.A. (Pvt., Co.C, 50th Regt., AL Inf.) and died in
the Civil War at Peachtree Ridge, Gwinnett Co., Ga. George was the grandson of
John H. Harless (1786-1857) and Catherine Moser.
There is a common gravestone for George, his wife Mary S. Nichols (1855-1901)
and their daughter, Anna J.(1881-1891), who is called "sister" on the
gravestone. Burial:
