Martha Agnes (Mattie) Sebree Harless
Birth: 1852Death: Jun. 16, 1929
Martha is the daughter of Edmund S. and Lutitia Dudley Capps Sebree. She was
born in Clay County, Missouri and was the eighth of nine children.
Martha was only two years old when her mother passed away.
Her father moved the family to Kansas and remarried a much younger woman.
Martha married Henry Harrison Harless on December 8, 1867 in Medina, Jefferson
County, Kansas. They were blessed with two children, a boy and a girl.
About 1875 they moved to Douglas County, Missouri.
Besides her own two children "Matt" helped raise a niece and a nephew.
She lost her own son when he was only 26 years of age, leaving behind a wife
and an unborn child.
Matt was left for twenty-eight years a widow. Burial:
