Orville Harless, 86, of St. Albans, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, in
Thomas Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born Dec. 9, 1920, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Wilbert and
Lena Harless. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a
daughter, Wilma Sheppard; sisters, Claire Tackett, Norma Childers, Grace
Crouch, Jewel Pauley; and brother, Ronald Harless.
He was a member of Marlaing Church of Christ for 45 years. Orville retired
from FMC with 42 years of service and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gertrude Tackett Harless; son, Herman
Harless; daughters, Lana Medding and her husband, Don, Connie White and her
husband, Charles, and Bonnie Widner, all of St. Albans; nine grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Garland Harless of Hurricane.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral
Home with Minister Pete Allinder officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham
Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
