Son of John Wesley and Cleminza Moon Harless. Husband of (1)Mary and (2)Ida
Mae. Born in Madison County AL, Oscar briefly lived in TX and AR before moving
to Louisiana where he worked in sawmilling and was also a farmer. He was a
resident of Leesville and of the Simpson community. He and Mary's only child,
Richard, did not survive and is also buried at Welcome Cemetery. After Mary
died he married Ida Mae Fontaineau, however they had no children. His older
sister, Maggie Harless Galloway and brother-in-law, Zook Galloway, are also
buried at Welcom Cemetery as are some of his nephews and neices and their
families. Oscar's parents and a sister are buried at Newlin Cemetery
(Beauregard Parish). His older brother, John Harless, is buried at the Broken
Bow, Oklahoma, Cemetery. Burial:
